Gaylord Barragan: As a veteran of many long drives, It old and worn out cars. I would do it, but only after changing all the fluids and making sure the belts and tires are good and nothing is leaking. You don't need brakes on the highway, you need a engine that is well lubricated. You can't speed or over load the vehicle. Real gages are always good to have. So you can check all functions, constantly. Stock gages don't warn you about possible problems, they tell you after problems happen. Worthless.I drove a 1965 GTO for 23 years, everyday. I traveled all over the country. I never got stranded once....Show more
Kaley Lappas: A car's reliability depends on how often its been serviced and how well you've taken care of it. Sunshine Holets: shouldnt be too much trouble. As long as there are no transmission jerks, or wobbling tires, or even bald tires. You should be OK.You mentioned DOWN to Florida (1400 miles. I am assuming you are in the Midwest and will most likely go through Chattanooga TN, and Atlanta GA. There is a mountain called Monteagle (Also the name of the town), in TN. When climbing it, watch your gages. Take a break at the top, to give your car a rest.It should be fine, but if anything were to happen, it would most likely be on that Monteagle climb (Both going and returning)....Show more
Omar Phipps: Bring it to a mechanic and ask them to look it over because you are going to drive 2800 miles..nobody online can tell you what condition the car is in unless their under the car..good luck!
