Nelly Kikuchi: It sounds like you have two problems.1. The state of California requires all registered automobiles to have liability insurance. To cancel that insurance you must first cancel the registration and return the plates to the state.2. If your car has value worth insuring then you may need to continue the Fire, Theft and other coverages while the car is being stored. GEICO may be able to reduce the coverages to their Comprehensive Coverage so if that is your desire then ! talk to them. Just understand the car will have no insurance i! f it is damaged while away.
