Norma Marsalis: If you're interested in typing in French without having to do the "alt+number" thing, then I suggest you download the Tavultesoft Keyman keyboard manager. It allows you to type in any language you desire, including the non-latin alphabets. Also, if you go into Regional and Language Settings under Control Panel, you can have the Microsoft keybaord show up on the desktop. Click on Regional and Language Settings, then click on the Language tab. Click on Details... and it will pull up a dialogue box. Under Installed Services, you can add whatever language you want to have as an option on the keybord. Click on add, choose your language, then click Ok. Then click on the Language Bar button at the bottom. Under the Settings tab, click on Show the Language bar on ! the desktop and click on Show additional Language bar icons in the taskbar. Now everytime you want to type something in a different language, jut go to the language bar (which will be in the taskbar) and choose the one you want. Tavultesoft is an excellent program because it keeps the official keyboard layout for that language whereas the Microsoft language bar alone may not always have that. I hope this helps....Show more
